Mailchimp integration

In short

Add, update and tag audience members, and read campaigns. Connect it on the Integrations page; your app then calls Mailchimp through Sapilon without ever holding an Intuit credential.

Lets your app read audiences, add or update their members, tag them, and list campaigns, with a Mailchimp Marketing API key.

Connecting

On the Integrations page choose Connect on Mailchimp and fill in:

  • API key — Mailchimp → Profile → Extras → API keys → Create A Key.
  • Server prefix — The part after the dash at the end of the API key (also in your Mailchimp address, e.g. us21.admin.mailchimp.com).

Sapilon checks the key with the provider before it saves it, and stores it encrypted; it is never shown again.

What your app can do

Only these requests are available; anything else is refused.

  • GET /lists
  • GET /lists/*
  • GET|POST /lists/*/members
  • GET|PUT|PATCH /lists/*/members/*
  • POST /lists/*/members/*/tags
  • GET /campaigns

How the agent uses it

Use integrations.request('mailchimp', …); paths are relative to https://<server prefix>.api.mailchimp.com/3.0. Mailchimp calls audiences “lists”; a member is addressed by the MD5 hash of the lower-cased email.

  • GET /lists, GET /lists/{listId} — audiences.
  • GET|POST /lists/{listId}/members — Example: { method: 'POST', path: '/lists/abc/members', body: { email_address: 'sara@acme.com', status: 'subscribed', merge_fields: { FNAME: 'Sara' } } }.
  • GET|PUT|PATCH /lists/{listId}/members/{hash} — PUT adds or updates in one call: body: { email_address, status_if_new: 'subscribed' }.
  • POST /lists/{listId}/members/{hash}/tags — Example: body: { tags: [{ name: 'Customer', status: 'active' }] }.
  • GET /campaigns — Example: { method: 'GET', path: '/campaigns', query: { status: 'sent', count: '20' } }.

Only add people who agreed to hear from you. Deleting is not allowed.
